Visit of the abbey, garden, orchards.
The abbey of Auberive, founded in 1135 by Saint-Bernard, is a witness to the great movements of our history. Monastery of the Cistercian order until the Revolution, it will then be sold as national property. Subsequently, the abbey was modified many times according to its occupation (spinning, holiday house, prison for women, correction house for young boys, summer camp, …).

Visit of the exhibition ‘Gilbert Peyre. Les Mondes arrangés’
Visit of the Contemporary Art Center.
The Auberive Abbey is dedicating this exhibition to the artist Gilbert Peyre. A collection of around twenty artworks is on display on the ground floor. These works span the artist’s career.
A selection of works from the Volot Collection will be presented on the 1st floor of the Art Centre with Jean-Pierre Nadau and Muriel Belin, Georges Bru, Philippe Dereux, Fred Deux, Sabrina Gruss, Andrée & Jean Moiziard, Louis Pons, Ronan-Jim Sévellec and Joel-Peter Witkin.
Information/ Rates
The abbey, the gardens, the orchards, the contemporary art center are accessible during the opening hours from 10am to 12:30pm and from 2pm to 6:30pm.
As part of the European Heritage Days, a preferential rate applies to access to the site (abbey and outside), to the exhibition of the Contemporary Art Center: single price 5€ and free for children (-12 years).
