CONTEMPORARY ART CENTRE OF AUBERIVE ABBEY

An atypical place, like most of the artists exhibited, which contrasts with the sanitized rooms of art centers or museums. A bias that corresponds well to this collection, which does not bother with categories dictated by institutions, and which likes painters recognized by the art market as well as so-called “brut” or “marginal” creators.

Ernest Pignon-Ernest & Barthélémy Toguo. Témoins d’Humanité

From 2nd June to 29th September 2024

The art centre of Auberive Abbey, with the kind assistance of their shared gallery, Lelong & Co, is pleased to bring together these two artists, Ernest Pignon-Ernest and Barthélémy Toguo, in the exhibition “Témoins d’Humanité” from June 2nd to September 29th, 2024.

Philippe Aïni. Rétrospective

From 4th June to 24th September 2023

Auberive Abbey presents an exhibition of Philippe Aïni. For this major retrospective, a hundred works is presented. These works span the artist’s career from 1980 to now.

Arts Factory / 25 ans au cœur de la scène graphique

From 5th June to 25th September 2022

Established in Paris since 1996, the Arts Factory gallery has been exploring the graphic scene for 25 years, at the crossroads of drawing, comics and illustration. Co-founders of the gallery, Effi Mild and Laurent Zorzin are regularly solicited for off-site projects. Approached by Alexia and Jean-Claude Volot, they accepted the invitation with enthusiasm and are taking over the Contemporary Art Centre of the Auberive Abbey.

In 2015, the abbey’s contemporary art centre dedicated a major exhibition to the artist Miodrag Djuric, known as Dado (born in 1933 in Cétinje, Montenegro and died in 2010 in Pontoise, France). For this major retrospective, the Auberive Abbey presented an exceptional collection of over 80 works — paintings, drawings, collages, engravings, etc. — some of which had never been seen before by the public, from its own collection or private collections. In parallel with this tribute to Dado, the abbey presented a selection of its new acquisitions.
