Passionate about Brazilian culture, the trio revisits this subtle repertoire through carefully chosen pieces. The concert consists mainly of bossa nova, samba and MPB (Música Popular Brasileira), with original three-voice arrangements, largely inspired by jazz sounds.
The lead and backing vocals are exchanged from one voice to another, revealing the timbre of each, and scat also appears in some pieces.
The musicians accompany themselves with acoustic instruments: guitar, double bass, ukulele. The flute comes in for a solo, and percussion (shaker, clave, surdo, guiro) rhythmically support the ensemble.
It’s an invitation to discover, or rediscover this repertoire that Bocata trio offers. A sweet, sunny musical moment, which lends itself to the attentive listening of a concert hall, as well as creating a warm musical atmosphere in more informal contexts.
