KANTOROWICZ Serge

His youth was marked by war and the deportation of his family leaves him a gaping brand and explains his dramaturgy. After studying at the Lycée Saint Etienne Graphic Arts from 1958 to 1961, he was a free student in the School of Fine Arts in Brussels in 1962. Painter, sculptor, master of engraving, he devoted himself entirely to his work from 1973. Previously, he worked for many years as a writer, mainly in workshops Maeght, for many artists, including Miró, Tàpies, Ubac, Zao Wou-Ki, Michaux, Riopelle and Juan Mitchell.

His family moved in 1964 in Marseille. They settled in the slums of St. Martha. After studying in a vocational high school, he became community worker in the northern districts of the city. In parallel to his profession, self-taught since childhood, he produced illustrations for various newspapers and magazines giving voice to the youth of the suburbs. Since 1991, he devoted himself to drawing and participates in various artistic events.
